August can be an exciting time for parents and children who are getting ready to go back to school and leave carefree summer days behind. Warm summer nights quickly transform into cool fall mornings as routines shift from staying up late to getting up early, from leisurely days to routines and schedules.
The members of the Pennsylvania Key are also gearing up for another school year working with early learning programs, coaching, mentoring, and implementing various early learning services and projects across the state. Each August the staff of the Pennsylvania Key come together for a special “Opening Day” gathering hosted by our parent organization, the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU or IU14) located in Reading.
This year BCIU executive director, Dr. Jill Hackman launched a new “Quick Connect” video blog (vlog) featuring the Pennsylvania Key staff and administrators at the annual August meeting. The theme for the 2024-2025 school year is “Continuing Connections.” In the theme of “Continuing Connections” please check out Dr. Hackman’s first vlog (youtube.com) and connect with us in the comments on your back to school rituals and routines, themes, and hopes for connecting with children, parents, assessors, specialists, coaches and mentors in the upcoming school year.
